How the range is worked out

  1. Each question has a difficulty level from our Tiffin Girls' question bank. Difficulty levels are set by our question writers.
  2. In each paper we find the ability that best explains how many your daughter got right, allowing for how hard those questions were.
  3. We place that ability on the usual 11+ standardised scale, where the children who sit a test average 100 and most score 85 to 115. It is our estimate on that scale, not a Tiffin Girls' score, and the school does not publish how it combines the two papers.
  4. With six or seven questions a paper the range is wide. Treat it as a starting point; a full timed mock covers far more of the test.

Questions

Is this an official Tiffin Girls' paper?

No. The school does not publish past papers. These questions are our own, written for its Stage One English and maths, and each one was solved independently by two solvers.

Is it the same as the Tiffin School test?

No. Tiffin Girls' and Tiffin School are separate schools with separate tests and registrations. This check uses questions from our Tiffin Girls' course only.

How long does it take?

15 minutes: English 8 and maths 7. The school's FAQ says each Stage One paper lasts under 60 minutes. In the real maths paper some answers are written as numbers; here every question is multiple choice.

Does a good result mean she will pass?

No. It is practice evidence from 13 questions, not a prediction of a place. Use it to choose what to practise first.

Do we need an account?

No. A parent report shows straight away: answers by paper, where to start and three sessions for this week, to print or save as a PDF. A free account is optional; it keeps the report and works through every answer.
